Rooted: A Community Event for Marion-Polk Doulas
Compass Perinatal Family & Community Support is pleased to introduce Rooted, a series of community events for local THW doulas and those interested in becoming THWs in the Marion and Polk County Region. We are grateful to the Willamette Health Council for sponsoring this event and future gatherings for our growing doula community.
What is Rooted?
…a nurturing space for Doulas to tend to our own well-being.
…a growing community for THW Doulas (or current doulas interested in becoming a THW) primarily serving the Marion-Polk region.
…a chance to reconnect with our local roots, share resources, and make new connections.
…ongoing community learning, featuring local community-based organizations and perinatal practitioners.
…an invitation to be held where you are: rooted in the community.

May 15, 2026: Rooted in Solidarity & Care
In a time of growing uncertainty and heightened immigration enforcement, doulas are being called to show up with deeper cultural awareness, trust, and care. This Spring’s Rooted event centers the vital role of community doulas in supporting immigrant and farmworker families. Together, we’ll explore ways to meaningfully hold space so that families feel supported, respected, and truly seen throughout the perinatal journey. We are very proud to partner with Anahuac Farm, Capaces, and Centro de Servicios para Campesinos for this special gathering - thank you!
Date/Time: Friday, May 15, 2026, from 5 to 8 PM (arrive early at 4:30 for an optional farm tour)
Venue: Anahuac Farm
Agenda:
4:30 PM – Tour of Anahuac Farm (Optional!)
5:00 PM – Welcome (Please arrive promptly)
5:15 PM – Traditional Tea & Healing Circle with Adrian Bernal Canales
6:00 PM – Supporting Immigrant & Farmworker Families Training & Discussion with Debbie Cabrales
7:30 PM - 8:00 PM – Social Connection Time & Closing
We hope you will join us in this meaningful space of learning, reflection, and solidarity.
