In addition to our 6-Day THW Doula Training Program, Compass Perinatal is proud to offer continuing education opportunities for our local doula community.We will offer a variety of continuing education (CE) courses throughout the year, with class dates, topics, and registration information posted here as they become available.
Some of our CE courses are designed to meet essential education requirements for doulas completing the Traditional Health Worker (THW) Registry application. Other courses will provide opportunities to expand your knowledge, strengthen your skills, and explore topics that enrich your work supporting families. Whether you are working toward your THW Registry application or simply looking for meaningful opportunities to continue learning, we hope these trainings will help you grow with confidence in your role as a doula.

For a limited time, these continuing education courses will be offered at no cost to local Marion-Polk doulas, thanks to funding from the Willamette Health Council. We are grateful for this support, which allows us to make high-quality professional development more accessible to doulas in our community.

August 29th Offerings: HIPAA Compliance & Interprofessional CollaborationJoin us for an afternoon of continuing education designed to strengthen essential professional skills for doula practice. This offering includes two 1-hour CE courses, with a short break between sessions.
HIPAA Compliance for Doulas (1 CE hour) - Course Date/Time: 8/29/26 @ 1 p.m. Instructor: Sarah Wort Course Description: Learn the essentials of HIPAA, client privacy, protected health information (PHI), confidentiality, secure documentation, and practical strategies for maintaining compliance in doula practice. Interprofessional Collaboration for Doulas (1 CE hour) - Course Date/Time: 8/29/26 @ 2:30 p.m. Instructors: Katie Valdrow and Bethany Griffin-Shetler Course Description: Develop skills for working effectively with healthcare teams, understanding provider roles and boundaries, communicating professionally, and supporting client-centered care across birth settings. |
